What you'll need:

Computer with camera, mic, and internet access

AMA Manual of Style (hard copy recommended but not required)

This course offers extensive, gently paced instruction in medical copyediting. Using in-class exercises and homework, we cover digital editing, AMA style, grammar, usage, fact checking, correction checking, online tools, and tips for getting work. You'll receive a PDF of the textbook and a packet with dozens of quizzes and practice tests; you'll also get detailed, individual feedback on your edits and markup style to ensure you're ready to work after the course ends.

Each class will be recorded and shared—especially helpful if you miss classes or enroll mid-course—and all students are welcome to sit in on future courses at no charge. After finishing, students can join the course's Google group and Discord server to chat with several hundred former students and working editors.
